Best auto car for reliability for £5000?

I would be grateful if you could suggest a number of petrol automatic cars for a young driver. He has a budget of up to £5500.

At this price point, I'd recommend a small hatchback with a CVT gearbox. Honda Jazz and the Toyota Yaris both have excellent reliability reputations and are plentiful for around £5000.

Neatly styled. Increased room and better performance than original Jazz. better to drive. Very versatile. CVT-7 returned in February 2011 replacing i-SHIFT. More reliable than first generation Jazz.
Fairly big boot by class standards, tempting hybrid option, Toyota has an epic reliability record.
