Should I buy a used Toyota Yaris GR?

I have recently made enquiries of Toyota re the Yaris GR and have been told that there is a waiting list for this vehicle into 2024.

I have checked a well-known used car site and I am astounded at the amount of Yaris GRs up for sale. Some are delivery mileage only at inflated prices but the majority are one or two years old, very low mileage and one owner.

Are you aware of any reason why purchasers of this vehicle should wish to offer them for sale after short ownership and apparently, in some cases, little use?

There are a lot about. I suspect many were bought by speculators hoping to flip them for a quick profit, or investors who've got cold feet and are trying to sell before they depreciate further. It is the kind of car that people may have bought as a toy and can no longer justify in the current economic climate, too.

Looks great on the outside and isn't too shabby on the inside either. Hybrid engine is cheap to run and relaxing. Autonomous aids make long drives painless.
