Cost of fuel

Looking at the AA comparison site, 23 out of 28 countries have cheaper diesel than petrol, and the average cost of diesel works out at £1.03/litre (1.22 Euros)

Why therefore is the UK market rigged against Diesel? Is this not seriously detracting from our competitiveness in Europe?

When will we see protests from the commercial sector, which are the only ones the government take any notice of?

Not rigged. A matter of supply v/s demand and the fact that the UK government does not subsidise diesel with lower taxes on it.
