Can you recommend a large, comfortable SUV?

Please could you advice me what would be the best large, comfortable SUV to purchase? I would like some economy and spend about £18,000.

A Citroen C5 Aircross could be a good choice. It's one of the most comfortable cars on the market, and your budget will get you an example from around 2020. A Skoda Kodiaq would be a good alternative, especially if you need seven seats.
