Should I buy a four year old electric car?

I normally buy my cars at 3/4 years old and 40,000/50,000 miles. I understand the possible faults with ICE engines, how would this policy be affected by buying used electric vehicles?

If anything, a three- or four-year-old electric car will be a more reliable used purchase than a petrol or diesel car of the same age. There are fewer moving parts to go wrong, servicing is generally cheaper and we're finding that the batteries are usually lasting well beyond their usual eight-year warranty.
