Does the 2021 Honda Jazz have a CVT gearbox?

We have a 2021 Honda Jazz and I am puzzled as to whether, when the petrol engine is driving the car, if this is through a direct drive or through a CVT gearbox (presumably with stepped ratios). I asked Honda UK and they said "ask the dealer"...and I did ask but no reply has been forthcoming.

The owner manual says that the direct drive from the engine is for high speed/low load conditions - which would imply a single ratio and no CVT.

Can you enlighten me - does it have a CVT gearbox or not?

No, the latest Honda Jazz does not have a CVT gearbox in a traditional sense. The engine generates charge for the two electric motors that directly drive the front wheels in normal use, but at high-speeds there is a lock-up clutch that engages to allow the engine to directly drive the wheels. The hybrid system will constantly vary the way in which the engine, electric motors and battery pack work together - there is no gearbox involved.
