Film Ford

On 1st September I took delivery of a new Fiesta Zetec 5-dr from Vospers of Truro - supplied under the scrappage scheme. I pointed out that unlike any of the showroom or forecourt models my car appeared to have two Sellotaped strips on each side of the rear door housings and questioned whether these should have been removed prior to delivery. I was told that these were for "protection" but no-one could explain why only my vehicle had them. Not satisfied, I telephoned Ford Customer Relations who said that I would have to speak to Technical Services at £1 per minute. I declined and instead e-mailed Ford from their website as suggested. Despite a further e-mail I have not had the courtesy of a reply and would be grateful if you can shed some light on this issue.

It is paint protection film to guard the paint against stone chips. It may have been accidentally removed from the showroom cars by the valeters.
