Discretion is the better part of valet

I have purchased a new 58 plate Honda Civic Type R. And am very keen on making sure that I can maintain the bodywork in the best way possible. The car gets washed every couple of weeks and polished about three times a year. I have just switched to using Autoglym car shampoo. But was wondering about your knowledge towards which brands of polish and waxes to use. I am currently looking at Meguires and Autoglym. I also have noticed microfiber scratches and swirl marks on the paintwork. So was wondering which one would you suggest to produce the best results.

Yesterday, I trialled Autoglym High Definition Wax on my little FIAT.
This is a wax, not a polish, so does not cut though surface dirt. You need to do that first with something else: either a polish or a clay bar.
Looks very good, though. Scratches and swirls you have seen can come from dirt in the cheesecloths from putting them on the ground.
