Carp parking

Your correspondent who was fined for overstaying at McDonalds is quite justifiably angry. I parked in my local Tesco in a handicapped bay and was fined £50. I was distracted by an incident in the car park and forgot to display my blue badge. Despite sending copies of my badge and an explanatory letter my appeal was denied (after a delay of 2 months). The car park was not full and I could have parked anywhere else for free. A letter to the manager of the store was unanswered. One concludes that in these circumstances that it is simply a money making exercise on the part of Tesco and Euro car parks.

That's right. It's moneymaking by the contractor rather then by the supermarket itself. That's how the supermarket gets cheap supervision of its carparks, at the expense of some very bad public relations. It can be challenged as shown by last weeks feature length e-mail on the subject.
