Limiting factor

I recently received my second speeding ticket for doing 39mph in a thirty zone. Since then I travel at no more than 50 on motorways, 30 on country lanes and 20 in built up areas. I did this recently on a trip from Aberdeen to Dover, it took me three long hard days, but I'm fairly sure it will be a ticket free trip. The problem is it becomes quite tiring constantly checking the speedometer, is it possible to get some device that I can fit to my car to mechanically make it impossible to exceed these speeds? I do not want a variable beeper this would drive me insane, alternatively do you know of a vehicle that will not exceed 30mph under any circumstances?

Driving at 50mph or less on a motorway is actually more dangerous and far more likely to cause a major crash than driving at 100. But Mercedes now have optional cruise control speed limiters, as do many Renaults, Citroens and Peugeots. The problem with these in our ridiculous country is that speed limits change too much. And speed limiters can also prevent you from accelerating out of trouble, which is the fundamental fault with Automatic Speed Control now being proposed by Big Brother, where technology that might fail at any time always controls the maximum speed your car will go.
