Airco worrier

The aircon has packed up on my 2003 Golf IV. How much should I be paying for a new compressor and clutch? Dealer quoted £1,500 for parts.

Crazy money. Might just be the compressor clutch that has packed up. That happened to us in Thailand and fixing it was less than £50. Go to an independent a/c specialist instead of a VAG dealer.
