Bling and buy
I would appreciate your comments on the wheels fitted to my car. It's a two-year-old Signum with the 2.8 turbo engine. Nice car and cheap to buy thanks to the enormous depreciation. I find it very hard over the bumps though and it jars on every pothole. The tyres will need replacing soon and rather than fit 235/35/19, as at present, I wonder about fitting, say, 17" alloy wheels and higher profile tyres. Would this give a softer ride do you think? The money saved on buying smaller, cheaper tyres would just about cover the cost of new wheels.

Definitely. But check the brakes first for clearance. And you won't be able to corner safely at 120mph any more, if that is of any concern to you. You need to declare any change to your insurer.
