Left on the shelf

In one of your columns you gave advice to someone who wished to buy a used LH drive car here for use on the Continent. I have friend who needs to do this, preferably a Citroen, Peugeot or Renault for use in France. I should be most grateful if you could repeat the information.

What used to work when sterling was strong does not work any longer now that sterling is weak because it costs LHD dealers 40% more to buy stock from mainland Europe. The only LHDs likely to be cheap are distress sales. The Left Hand Drive Place at Daneshill near Basingstoke is still worth a look, though
