Hondaland

You very kindly replied suggesting that instead of a new Jazz as no discount we consider we consider a pre-facelift Civic at a big discount. But my wife is adamant that she wishes to stay with the Honda Jazz, so can you kindly comment on whether in the light of the changing circumstances Honda might reduce the price of these models as the VAT reduction is nothing to do with Honda although admittedly it will lower the price by a few hundred pounds.

The old Jazz was made a Guangzao, China. The new Jazz is made in Japan. The new Jazz will not be built at Swindon until the summer. So the fact that Honda is shutting down Civic and CRV production for February and March does not put you in a good bargaining position for a Jazz. Prices should, however, have gone down by 2.5% as from 1st December, unless Honda rather unwisely raised them due to the severe drop in the value of Sterling. As I may have mentioned before there are fields of pre-facelift Civics out there and Honda will have to discount them to get them gone.
