Do PCP schemes charge heavily for wear and tear at the end of the contract?

I currently have a 2017 Kia Sportage. I'm now looking to change and I'm considering PCP. My worry is that - like a hire car - when you give it back after the contract period they go over it with a fine-tooth comb and give you a bill for hundreds of pounds for slight scratches or stone chips. Is this the system or am I worrying too much?

PCP agreements usually include a fair wear and tear policy that will take into account minor damage. However, as with all things in life, the devil is in the detail. Some wear and tear polices, for example, will be more generous than others. And that's why it's really important to read the small print, because some will overlook a scratched alloy wheel while others will not. For more PCP advice, see: www.honestjohn.co.uk/cheap-pcp-deals
