I actually know an automatic right foot only driver. Although she didn't kill or injure anyone, she managed to create mayhem and damage six other cars in the Co-op Supermarket car park in Penistone, W. Yorks a few years ago. She still swears to this day that it was the car that ran away with her, but I have always known why it happened. When she is hemmed in, she panics and revs the engine. Enough said. Her husband hasn't let her drive an automatic since.

You should see my mailbag from the elderly readers who refuse to left foot brake their automatics while manoeuvring, and consequently kill and maim quite a lot of their closest relatives as a result, blaming the car for 'running away'. I've got the retired driving instructor who killed himself practising what he preached, the BMW driver who crashed through the retaining wall four floors up in a Hong Kong multi story carpark, the elderly gent who killed his wife in a carpark, another elderly gent who crushed his wife against his garage wall then demolished the wall, the old lady who wiped out a house porch and nearly killed her sister. I can list all of these and more but the readers who know best and judge everyone else by their own lack of co-ordination still condemn left foot braking whole manoeuvring as dangerous.
