Warrant piece

I exchanged my Mercedes A-Class for a Subaru Forester, and was given a basic 3-month warranty with it. I also took out extra warranty with Warranty Direct. Within the first week of me having it, the car has a problem when reversing, whereby it sounds like the rear brakes are grinding, and on the last MOT there was an advisory notice regarding the rear cross member. Can these be repaired under the warranty agreement, or should I be going back to the dealer?

It would be fraud to claim on the warranty as these faults were obviously there when you bought the car. A dealer has to rectify any such faults for the first 6 months after purchase. Whatever he says, that is the law. More here: www.honestjohn.co.uk/faq/consumer-rights
