Partial Punto

In June 2009 my wife and I purchased a 2007 FIAT Grande Punto for our son from the branch of a national dealer chain in Darlington. The experience was not good and several faults were unresolved by the garage however, the main issues we have repeatedly tried to resolve are the lack of the car's service history handbook and manufacturer warranty documentation and documentation for the dealer chain’s 2 year used car service package (including MOTs). Repeated telephone calls received promises that the documentation would be sent to us "within two weeks" and "shortly". It has never materialised. Letters have never been answered. The latest, sent by recorded delivery was received by the dealer on 01 Feb 2010 but he has still failed to respond. Is there anything at all that we can do to receive these documents, and ultimately 2 year service package that we have paid for from this dealership?

Yes. Take out a small claims track action at the county court for £1,500 compensation against the dealer for failing to supply the car in
"satisfactory condition" in that, despite repeated requests, the dealer did not supply the service history and warranty documentation, rendering the car worth £1,500 less as a result.
