Shouldering, the blame

I am sending a photo of one of the front tyres from my Getz. The front ones both had the same wear pattern. I blame this wear wholly on our local speed cushions that have to be traversed every time I go out. Finding the wear the same on the two front tyres I mentioned it to my tyre supplier, who said it was probably the tracking that was out and could they check it out, instead I took it to my own garage to check, where they found it to be perfect. I have since had two more tyres fitted with the same request re. the tracking, once again it was found to be perfect. This leads me to the conclusion that all tyre suppliers seem to have decided that it is an easy “extra money” option to advise their customers to have their tracking checked, rather than advising them against straddling all knife edged road humps. In other words they don’t want to recognise that humps cause tyre wear, as it is good business to check tracking that doesn’t actually need it.

That's a diabolical conspiracy theory but a good one. Everyone is out to make money these days, at whatever cost. Good picture that illustrates the problem perfectly. Will add to my collection and try to run. This year, by ridiculing politicians national and local for putting pot hills in our roads instead of spending our money filling pot holes I think we can start getting rid of them on a bigger scale than hitherto. I even have a photo of a pot hill with a pothole in it. A perfect metaphor for the parlous state of the UK.
