What is the best £7k hatchback auto for comfort and easy access?
I am looking for a small to medium-size hatchback with a petrol engine and automatic gearbox. I cover 5000 miles a year and have £7000 to spend. I currently have a Vauxhall Corsa auto, but find it a bit small and difficult to get in/out of. Any recommendations would be gratefully received

I'd recommend a Honda Jazz. It has slightly higher seats than a Corsa and has wide-opening doors, so access is easy. The CVT automatic transmission is very reliable (avoid the i-Shift auto used between 2008 and early 2011). Your budget will get you a 2014 model in good condition with low miles. Also consider a Kia Venga or Hyundai ix20.

Unrivalled practicality and versatility. Plenty of room for four adults to travel in comfort. Surprisingly fun to drive, especially 1.5 i-VTEC Sport.
