Under suspension

I retire next May after thirty years in the prison service, and I am buying myself a quality car. The two models that I have looked at are the BMW 5 sport, and the E Class Mercedes Sport. I have not had a test drive in either car yet, so the question to you is, what would you go for, and is there another car that you would recommend I should look at.

Well I wouldn't go for Sport spec in either. That brings unnecessarily big wheels with unnecessarily low profile tyres that crack, buckle and burst, cost a fortune to repair, and destroy the ride quality and steering feel of the cars. Save yourself money upfront and on maintenance by going for an SE. But remember, the E60 BMW 5 Series is at the end of its model life and the W212 E Class is just at the start. There will also be a new Audi A6 this year.
