New Jaguar XJL and dealer offers

I have recently purchased a new Jaguar XJL portfolio and love it.

The problem I have is that the dealer is trying to convince me:

a) To have it Diamond Brighted (for £400ish) saying that it will be guaranteed to keep its shine for as long as I own the car.

Is that possible and is it worth having?

b) They want me to buy a VRP (vehicle replacement policy) for another £500. I am already fully comprehensively insured so what would be the benefit?

If it is unconditionally guaranteed for the life of the car (which means 10 years max) then go for it. Modern paint is too soft to resist atmospheric fall out and birdlime. You can get the VRP/GAP insurance for about a third of the price through an insurance broker.
