You'll probably be after a Toyota of some description - it depends how much space you need. The Yaris hybrid will be the cheapest to run (and £10,000 gets you a good secondhand one), although doesn't have the practicality of the Prius or Auris Hybrid. All ought to prove to be very reliable cars - there's a reason taxi drivers love a Prius.
