Is it best to replace a car before it loses too much value or run it for a lot longer? My current car is a Honda Civic diesel on a 64 plate and it’s done about 68,000 miles.

There comes a point after about six years and 60k-80k miles where parts and replacement costs (tyres, brakes, exhaust, timing belt and anything that fails) exceed the amount by which the car is depreciating and that's the point to let it go and replace with a new one.
