As good as it looks...

Bought the Evoque having had two Jaguar XF's and wanting to downsize within the JLR "family"...no Jag XE available yet! After nearly 6 months and four thousand miles the car has been faultless. Yes there are one or two minor trim rattles which come and go but, after running an XF, I am used to that. Performance and handling particularly with the new 9 speed gearbox is exceptional for a 4x4 and economy of above 40 mpg easily achievable if you don't go mad. Ride is quite firm even on 18" wheels so I would avoid larger rims unless you are going to specify Magnaride on a higher spec model. I have not taken it far off road but had a recent half day Land Rover Experience at Eastnor Castle in a LR owned Evoque and was staggered how capable it was in difficult conditions. I am now hoping that I can actually get off our drive if it snows this winter...unlike the XF which was completely useless! In terms of extras on the Pure Tech I would recommend as a minimum the Panoramic roof, front fogs, spare wheel...and Xenon headlights if you can. Running costs look to be competitive particularly if you buy a five year service pack for £499.
