Great car marred by dreadful unreliability

I purchased this car from new and was immediately impressed by its design, comfort and spaciousness. The car is particularly good on long journeys when the power of the engine makes cruising at motorway speeds effortless or in bad weather. Unfortunately, the car has been marred by its dreadful unreliability and I have lost count of the number of journeys it has made on the back of a transporter. Parts replaced include an exhaust manifold, turbocharger, turbocharger gaskets, air suspension and parking sensors (multiple times). The automatic gearbox software has also been updated several times in an attempt to cure jerky gear changing. On the plus side, the service from the dealership has been excellent and they have convinced Mercedes UK to contribute to the very high costs of repair. Overall, a potentially great car marred by issues with build quality.
