Overall reliability

A refined, reliable, comfortable, head turning cruiser.

Bought this car at a main dealer at approx 2 years old. Car was half its original mrrp and with one owner and only 13k on the clock was a bit of a bargain. Ive had the car 5 months and so far it's been great. Town driving is returning 25-26mpg with 200 mile motorway runs managing 40mpg - outstanding considering the size and power available from the 3 litre turbodiesel.
Refinement on long journeys is incredible - with the engine turning over at only 1800 rpm at 70 mph noise is negligible apart from that imparted by the wide tyres from our not so great British road surfaces. Acceleration is brutal if you want it with 50-70mph only taking 3 or 4 seconds. Ride is a little firm (far better than wallowy) and the car does its best over road surfaces from our third world country... you still feel the potholes I'm afraid. Handling is sharp and is accompanied by beautifully weighted, accurate steering - unbelievably good for such a big car. The brakes are also superb: - progressive and fade/judder free... not that Ive had to really try them out yet though! Practicality is a little limited with only 4 seats but I knew that anyway!
Only one small problem so far - car was displaying multiple jerky downshifts when cold coming to a halt eg coming up to a junction. This was cured by a £40 gearbox software upgrade at MB dealer.
Insurance reasonable too at £500 fully comp for me and my "better half" (both of us are late 40s nad accident/loss free for a while).
A truly stunning car.
