Delights and disappoints in equal measure
I reviewed my car over 12 months ago, and gave it 4 stars. Familiarity has bred a bit of contempt since, unfortunately.
Starting with the bad. The interior is cheaply manufactured. Carpets, in particular, remind me of a 1999 Hyundai Accent I once drove. Fluffy/scouring pad like. The driver's seat creaks, and leather isn't wearing well. Ambient lighting from the next car is brighter. Doesn't auto lock, and the windscreen wiper defrost function might as well not exist. The boot is a decent size, but misses handy storage spaces.
Economy isn't brilliant, even driven very carefully it can just sc***e 40mpg on an extended motorway run. At 60 mph. Warm runs around town are better. The engine suddenly sounds rough too.
Performance is inconsistent, with either a tidal wave of electric torque or not much with lots of noise. Road noise is noticeable too.
Bodywork has panel gaps I could lock my pushbike wheel to, and the bumpers move when washed by hand.
Good? Space, visibility, comfort, economy on a warm day around town. Servicing costs are reasonable and the car is easy to live with.
Would I have another? No, and especially not for £48k that the new model retails at.
