1.0T 100 Titanium EcoBoost 5dr Hatchback

Nice to Drive. Economy not outstanding. Practical, although doors heavy.

We like it. It drives well, with the ride on 16" wheels pretty good, and not to bumpy like our previous Focus.

Economy seems average at 43mpg measured at the pump, the trip version is always out by about 8%. This is for country driving.

It is ideal for getting older folks with creaky joints (like us) in and out due to the lack of B-pillar. However some might find the doors quite heavy - they are, and the seat belt attachment to the seat seems a bit odd initially.

Watch out for door rattles and failure to lock because doors appear to be shut but are not. The dealer did not even try to fix this, but I managed to deal with most rattles by judicious adjustment: The front door has catches at top and bottom, they both have to have caught at the same time otherwise the car complains loudly.

The little ecoboost 100bhp engine is a real peach alternating between silent tick-over and growling acceleration - very responsive. So far no problems with it.
I note that a number of folks are buying autos. We nearly did, but glad now we didn't - this car is so easy to drive in manual. Slick gearchange and soft clutch.
Ford have done a good job with this.
