Currently a Very pretty death trap

Bought in 2017/8 from a private seller. Fine driving in town. It has CITY driving option for lighter steering and the annoying StartStop mechanism for cutting out at traffic lights. I NEVER USE IT!! However, the car thinks I should and tries to engage while driving at speed on motorways. During a run to and from Wales late Last year it performed this little trick on both journeys.

Without warning, the engine light goes on, the StopStart icon flashes thus, ! And the wording StopStart function unavailable. the car loses power and feels like it’s dragging four dead elephants. In the middle lane it's quite the experience!

A trip to a Fiat garage in central London which provided a lovely valeting service for free but charged over £600 to not fix the problem.

6 months later a trip along the A3 with lorries screaming past me the car decided to give me another exciting experience in the middle lane and unlike Wales there was not a hard shoulder in sight except for a very narrow lay-by type thing, barely the width of my car.

Another trip to the same garage is looming, I really hope there is a warranty on the coil pack they fitted. And £8 per spark plug?

Now I am not saying that every Fiat 500 is the same, mine is probably rogue and would never be Used on a long drive again ,so I might as well get out my granny card and use the bus from now on.

Would I recommend this car to a friend? Only one that I want to kill.
