Budget car

Very disappointed regarding the quality of this car. The headlights are very dim, require adjustment. The suspension is rather bouncy. Plastic noises from pillars or seat belt mechanism. The wheels are black painted steel with plastic trims that look like alloys. Soft on the corners as it rolls. Fuel consumption is about 35mpg in a true test filling up and refilling. The electrics are not reliable, with faulty Eco buttons, faulty computer dash displays. There are two reversing light lenses, only one works. Water leaks in through the roof aerial, the material on the interior roof is some form of compressed paper, dealers solution bathroom sealant. The audio system has a USB so you can play lots of your favourite music, however when you switch off this system the first thing you hear is the first track of the first album every time you start the player, this becomes unbearable however much you enjoy Abba dancing queen. The clutch pedal is hard against the centre console which means there is no where to rest your foot. The paint is very thin and very delicate, scratches very easily. Parts are a major problem for this company. It can actually take many weeks to get a part. The performance of this 3 cylinder engine is not too bad, but it is noisy compared to the 4 cylinder 1.2, just don't try and overtake on the motorway. The back seat when lifted looks like the dog has chewed it exposed white foam. I would say you get what you pay for.
If you want a cheap car which "might last 5 years" then this is for you. But for the money it is like a throw away lighter, just get another one. However don't think you are getting a Renault built in Romania. This is the very poor relative, that looks good. Rust is a problem with Dacia across the whole range, with only a 2 year anti corrossion protection, I think warranty costs will prove expensive once the warranty has passed. Repair costs could be high and often.

Road tax for the Petrol Stepway version of the Sandero is group D which is £110, the basic Sandero is £30 diesel version is £30.

A safety concern is that the wheels for the Sandero Stepway are 16 inch 5 spoke wheels, some cars have been fitted with the basic Sandero 15 inch wheel as a spare, Please check your spare and contact your dealer if it is a 15 inch wheel, you should have a full size 16 inch 5 spoke black steel wheel.
