fantastic little car

Third new one in family (first in 2006). Beware any pre 2009 the clutch plate springs break and you can break the clutch arm pushing hard (£100). You will need a new clutch (40k) before the plate wears out (£400 (£700 if you are daft enough to go to a dealer)). Bigger clutch from 2009. On non remote key basic models the door and boot locks wear out in as little a a year and you end up unlocking the passenger door to get in (£500 unless like us you take it to Citroen UK in Slough and argue like mad to get them to do the locks and seals under warranty). Water pump is like something from a fish tank and lasts 60k (£200). Look for puddles where spare is as rear hatch and rear door seals can leak (a lot). Drives like a real mini, very agile and will just do a ton, the most fun to drive city car. Great on fuel (60). Turns on a sixpence. Boot is a joke, get a cheap velcro touch light for it. Lots of room in the back but only two rear seatbelts even though three will easily fit. If you get a big impact front or rear always put it through the insurance as damage can be done behind the bumpers and nothing shows the thing shrugs of small impacts where other cars get damaged.
