Volvo S90 priced from £32,555, V90 from £34,555

Volvo has announced prices for the S90 and V90, which cost from £32,555 and £34,555, respectively. Order books are open for both models now and first deliveries are due in September.

Initially only diesel engines will be available. The entry-level D4 produces 190PS and 400Nm of torque, with official economy of 64.2mpg and emissions of 116g/km. The D5 is available with all-wheel drive only and produces 235PS, with 480Nm of torque, economy of 58.9mpg and emissions of 127g/km. Both engines come linked to an eight-speed automatic transmission as standard.

There are two trim levels – Momentum and Inscription. Momentum includes leather upholstery, LED lights, dual-zone climate control, heated seats, keyless start, a large nine inch touchscreen Sensus infotainment system, eight inch TFT instruments and a power boot lid/tailgate.

Moving up to Inscription trim adds Nappa leather, power front seats, a larger 12.3-inch TFT instrument display, diamond-cut wheels, hands-free boot opening and a range of premium trim touches like walnut interior inlays.

Pilot Assist – a semi-autonomous driving system – is standard on all models. It will keep a set speed on the motorway or slow down to follow other cars, plus it will maintain its lane position. City Safety is also included and will automatically brake in an emergency. It can detect pedestrians, cyclists, other vehicles and large animals like horses or deer.

Options include an all-round 360-degree camera and parking assistance that will automatically reverse into parallel or bay spaces. There is also an 18-speaker, 1400W Bowers and Wilkins audio system.
