99 2.0 Wet rear footwell and spare key needed - stuartl
We have just bought a very nice Focus Ghia saloon.

The passenger side rear footwell is a bit wet and I was wondering if these cars suffered from the pollen filter gasket problems like the VW's.

The other thing is the car came with only one key. It is the three button type, lock, unlock and boot release. Are these keys chipped like the older fords and an arm and a leg to get duplicates for?

Thanks in advance,

Stuart

A wet passenger footwell in the front is often a sign that the pollen filter has been changed and the windscreen cowl hasn't been re-fitted correctly. If your carpet is wet in the rear only, then I would have thought that this may be due to something else.

The Focus has an immobiliser, so all keys require coding. If you've got two working keys, then you can program a third yourself. If you've only got one and require a second, then you'll need to go to a Ford dealer or auto key specialist and you'll probably be looking at a cost of £100+

Or a sign that it hasn't been changed at all and is now soaking wet and clogged up with grime and leaves (as happened to a MkI Mondeo of mine).

Except he said rear passenger footwell - but water could probably run back?
