Used a local one. Original quote was £45. Since the job was not perfect the charge was £20. Happy as the ding is only visible if you know where to look

They are worth using and, if they're sensible, they won't take the job on unless they are confident that their specialist techniques will work. For that reason, Chips Away in St Albans turned down a job I offered them; they had done very good work previously, which is why I went back to them.

If you can't get any personal recommendations, pop in to a local car dealer and ask them who they use.

I dropped a plastic garden shed on my wife's less than one year old merc, denting the top of the wing. I got the famous dent (Dentmaster)people in, meeting furtively in the car park of a shopping centre. Unless you know you will not spot it. SWMBO has not yet, 5 years on. A well spent 100 quid! Phew!

My limited experience of using dent removal is that, if you can find a good service, the results are very good indeed. I used a very good one, a freelance based in Mansfield area; £50 per panel. I found him thru my local main dealer who use him to fettle up their trade ins. They were happy to recommend him and I was well pleased with his work. My tip would be to ask one of your local main dealers who they use to sort out their car's dinks and dents.

Any time this query comes up I always ask how old the car is etc. Yes, none of us like our car with dents etc but I remember getting Dent Master out to fix a couple of dings in my door. Fixed it perfectly but a week later another car door dented me again in the car park.

So I would maybe be tempted just to hold off until you are maybe selling and then get them fixed?
