Buying VW Polo 1.4 SE - Timing belt question - Spudgun88

Hey folks,

My partner is looking to buy a used car and has seen a VW Polo 1.4 SE, 2005 plate that she likes. It's done 80,000 miles, and according the its service history the timing belt was last done at 40,000 miles. My concern is that the car may now be due to have its timing belt done again at great cost; is that the case?

I don't know but I'll change the heading to shopew there's a timing belt question, in the hope that one of our experts will see it.
