Peugeot 306 - Tailgate Lock Wont Unlock Deadbolted? - lawrencek

We have P 306 M-REG with keypad in car. Had problem with alarm and dead bolts - all ok now but we cannot unlock the tailgate. Key will not turn - used to with the whir of the gears within.

Even when battery flat we could turn the key, now we cannot.

How can I get it unlocked and is there any access from inside to pull the lock rod to get the door open

Have you tried tipping the rear seats forward, and removing the hatchback inner trim to get at the mechanism? Need to be a bit of a contortionist, but worth a try.
