vauxhall zafira 2.0 petrol - car is costing us - fancyshoes

Weh ave this car mentioned above and its a 2006, it started giving us problem approximately a year after we bought it from arnold clark though its a used one, the problem started with the wheel shaking when my partner drives it at any speed, and then there is this sliding or thunder lighteing coming up on the dashboard, radio keeps going on and off could be for a day or for a few hours, fan is fluctuating as well, its on and off for some few minutes, we don't seem to understand what the problem is and the amount of fuel it consumes is extrememly high in a week we fuel up to £100.00 which i feel its too much, we have been to arnold clark and at that time we were charges for over £750 for the thunder light coming up in the dashboard but this tends to still be there.

at the moment we are not financially bouyant and this car is actually costing us a lot, we don't want to take it back to arnold clark as their charges are too high and am afraid we won't be able to pay that if we take it there, we have been advised of other garages but is there a chance of knowing what the problem could be, we are actually the third owner so far. any idea of whats happening and what it could be will be highly appreciated. thanks

The old "sliding and thunder lighteing" problem strikes again. Thought this had been cured years ago.

Normally sorted by good punctuation and a better description of the issues.

A better description would be useful. Maybe you can look in the handbook to identify the warning light, and describe your driving style and mileage to see if the mpg seems excessive. That would at least give us something to go from.

And ignore Skidpan above; he's clearly never had a car with "thunder and lightning" which is very very frightening indeed.

You're goosed if you car starts 'thundering and lightening' out of warranty although you could ask the manufacturer for a goodwill payment towards the significant repair costs

Isn't this a 2006? I'd be amazed if anything comes from Vauxhall on this.
