Best used SUV for towing a caravan?

I currently own a Nissan X-Trail diesel. I use it as a tow car, but due to a change of caravan and increased weight - up to 1510kg - I need a new car with more pulling power.

I am considering a used Volvo XC60; however, manual versions are scarce and it would probably be an automatic Geartronic model. What is your opinion on the XC60 as a tow car?

Volvo Geartronics are torque converter but have had a few problems. You don't say how much you can spend, but I'd be looking at a post 2010 KIA Sorento or Hyundai Santa Fe 2.2 chain cam R-Type manual. They can tow 2,500kg and running solo can manage 40mpg at a steady 70.
