Stop start technology - what are the mechanical long term effects?

What are your views on the mechanical long term effects of stop start technology ? Not with standing modern engine oils being better, and environmental benefits ( at least on paper ) surely constant stop starting must be more harmful to cars in the longer term ? My 2016 Santa Fe has such functionality and Hyundai advise sensibly to let the turbo cool after towing yet I note the Stop Start still cuts in whilst towing. I manually over rode this setting during the journey.

Oh, really. Does it always stop the engine or only sometimes? There should be a heat sensor to prevent it switching off when the turbo is too hot, but it is actually wise to switch the stop start off completely while towing.
