Delay delivering a new Jaguar XE Prestige

I put my order for an XE last year in November 2014, I was promised June 2015 delivery date. The salesman told me last night it SHOULD be here in July 2015. All the time my current car is losing its value, I am part exchanging it for a the new car. My current car is due insuring on the 8th July, I do not want to insure my old car again, that would cost me money, I would be lumbered with getting my insurance company to pay me back the uninsured months if I take the new car whenever it's delivered. What are my rights in refusing the new car?

You ordered a completely new car before it was anywhere near production, so of course this sort of thing can happen. The only real issue is insurance because your old car is losing a lot less in depreciation than the new Jaguar will.
