Why is the EA889 manifold so important when it comes to DPFs?

I'm thinking of buying a 12 month old Audi A3 1.6 TDI. Does this car come fitted with the EA889 manifold? Why is this manifold so important when it comes to avoiding DPF faults?

If it is the latest MQB A3, which it should be, then it should have the latest EA889 manifold in head engine which if more efficient and looks after its DPF better. Avoid the previous 1.6TDI. Lot of problems with that engine.
