Buying a used hatchback - Honda Civic or Mazda 3?

My ford fiesta has just died and I need to replace it with a used car. I like the Mazda 3 2.2D and the Honda Civic 2.2 CDTI. I have read that the Mazda 3's 2.2D has had problems with diesel contaminating the sump oil because of the DPF. Bearing in mind that I cover a lot of miles each year (20k approx.), will the Mazda 3's DPF/engine sump oil issues be a problem, or will the Honda Civic be a more reliable long term choice?

Civic 2.2iCDTI a better choice. Does not have a diesel particulate filter, so one less worry.
