Buying a new A3 - will it be quiet?

I currently drive a 14 plate Audi A5 2.0TDi SE coupe and my wife an 09 A3 2.0TDi Sport (3 door).

My wife has to change her car and we would like to keep an A3 to maintain a good quality hatchback. However, we have noticed that my car is considerably quieter, especially on motorways. As she will have to do more motorway driving, would a new SE version or a Sport with the 205/55 R16's fitted be quieter than the current 09 Sport? Or is there another reason the A5 is so much quieter?

More sound deadening in an A5. But the latest A3 is much improved over the previous A3. And yes, quieter and more comfortable on 205/55 R16s.
