BMW X5 - is it any good for towing?

I'm thinking of buying a new car, can you tell me if the BMW X5 is any good for towing?

Needs the full BMW towing kit which includes an additional automatic transmission oil cooler and costs about £2500. Anything less than that is unwise and could actually be illegal under EC Type Approval regs.
