Which SUV is best for towing a caravan?

My 2003 BMW X5 gearbox has failed at 103,000 miles. I am looking for a replacement and new SUV to tow my 1900KG twin axle caravan on European tours. Ideally, the new vehicle will provide long term reliability.

The short list is current BMW X5 or Range Rover Sport - what would you recommend? or would an alternative manufacturer provide a more reliable solution?

New model Kia Sorento 2.2CRDI KX2 manual, £31,995, as tested here: www.honestjohn.co.uk/road-tests/kia/kia-sorento-20.../ Makes everything else look like a waste of an extra ten to twenty grand.

Impressive interior quality and exceptionally comfortable, handles very well for such a big vehicle, available as a two-wheel drive 25d model with strong fuel economy.
