Why am I told to call Fiat First accident management before my insurers in case of an accident?

I recently bought a new Fiat 500C. My query is that, amongst the huge amount of paperwork I received, I am encouraged in the event of an accident to contact 'Fiat First'. The garage where I bought it (Glyn Hopkin) also gave me a flyer saying, "Call Glyn Hopkin before your insurer". I am sure my insurers Saga would like me to call them first. I am confused, and in light of letters on your page regarding accident management companies, I would appreciate your advice.

Nothing is for nothing. And while 'Fiat First' should ensure that your car is repaired to a high standard, it has to make money somehow and the usual way accident management specialists make money is by inflating the cost of the hired courtesy car. If the insurers refuse to pay this high cost, you then become personally liable for it.
