Is a high mileage Jaguar XF a good bet?

I am well into retirement and only travel about 5k miles a year. We already have a small car [Toyota IQ] and would like the comfort of a bigger car for the few longer journeys, but only have a limited budget. I have seen a 2008 Jaguar XF 2.7D for sale at a main dealers for only £14k.

It looks good but the issue is that it has done 77.3k miles. Our limited mileage doesn't make that a problem but, at this stage, would we be buying into a lot of expensive problems? I would like to keep this car for the long term, so re-sale is not an important consideration.

Could be a problem. The 2.7TDV6 is not particularly reliable at high mileage.
