What’s causing abnormal tyre wear on Audi A4?

The nearside front tyre on my Audi A4 is wearing on both the inner and outer edges, while the driver side shows no such wear. I check all four tyre pressures every fortnight and don’t believe it is due to underinflation or the other tyres would have suffered too.

The car was raised and inspected by my local dealer, but all suspension bushes were fine. I was told the car needed a wheel alignment, but I believe this is only required if the wear is on the inner or outer edge.

Obviously, I do not wish to pay for alignment if the problem will not be resolved, could the track rod or track rod end be the cause?

Swap the front tyres side to side and have a four way laser alignment at a branch of www.alignmycar.co.uk
