Why don't motorway service stations advertise their fuel prices on the motorway any more?

A few weeks ago you ran an email complaining about high fuel prices at motorway service stations. Several years ago there were large signs before the service stations informing motorists of the price per litre of petrol and diesel. It did not take long before this information was discontinued and prices rose to a level much higher than non-motorway outlets. The blank signs are still there. In order to install an element of competition amongst the service station operators, I feel that this price information should be available so that motorists can make an informed decision whether to stop than having to wait until arriving at the pumps.

You are quite correct. I think drivers also need to be told which fuel is on sale as well. If they can be told Waitrose or M&S; Starbucks or Costa, why can't they be told which fuel? There is a brilliant website with all you need to know about motorway services here: www.motorwayservices.info
